YOU GUYS... this is possibly my new favorite snack. I'm telling you this is a must try. All you need is a rolling pin and a food processor and you're in business. This is a great appetizer if you have the munchies before dinner, it's football Sunday, or just anytime really.
I won't say too much... see the recipes for yourself.
First, make the hummus. You can use as many or as little of my ingredients as you want, or put in your favorite spices. Here's my recipe:
WHAT YOU NEED:
1 can garbanzo beans
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon water
2 cloves garlic
salt & pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon thyme
Blend in your food processor until smooth.
Pour into a small serving dish and set aside
Now make the flatbread...
WHAT YOU NEED:
1 cup self rising flour
1 cup greek yogurt (I use Chobani)
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon oregano
Extra flour for rolling.
Mix your ingredient together. You may need to use your hands as sometimes it doesn't form right away. Mix until it becomes a ball of dough.
Cut into 5-6 pieces
Grab a cutting board and a rolling pin. Put down some flour, then one of the dough chunks, then a little more flour.
Heat a medium sized pan on medium heat.
Roll into a circular shape until thin. I would say like 1/8th inch chick. It will thicken when heated.
Place into the heated pan about 2 minutes a side.
NOTE: Pan should be completely DRY - NO cooking spray or oil.
Annnnd serve! Cheers!
